Making a fabric basket isn't hard, although it can be time consuming. I use three sixteenth braided cotton clothesline, I get it at Walmart. Any fabric will do only limited by the imagination of the maker. The fabric strips should be cut no wider than three quarters to one inch, and the width of the fabric is about the easiest length to cope with.

I just toss the clothesline onto the floor and unwind it with a tug as I work.

  I start with about an inch wide strip and make sure the clothesline is even and about half the width extends above the top of the clothesline. Wraping down diagonally I wrap for a few inches then

fold the unfilled top down to meet the wrapped cord.

Then fold once more about half an inch.

Place under the needle and zig zag. I like a narrower zig zag, less thread shows and the fabric shows up better. Keep zig zagging, at first the foot needs to be lifted between stitching, in order to get it into the round shape, but after a couple of rows all it needs is guidance, and almost turns itself.

Care must be taken that the center of the foot is exactly on the line where the two strands of wrapped cord are, if the zig zag doesn't straddle them both the basket will fall apart.

I like to wrap a good long length of cord, I think it's a bit faster, and then use a clothespin to keep it from unwinding while I sew.

To add a new strip of fabric wrap the end tightly around the cord, open slightly and put the new end between the cord and the last of the previous strip, then continue wrapping and sewing as before.

To end cut the cord diagonally wrap the end of the cord and twist the fabric in the same direction tightly. Zig zag it tightly against the previous row.

Zig zag around the top edge of the basket with the right side of the needle just off the edge to finish.
If anyone has any questions I would be glad to answer them, it is a relatively easy process, I find it fun, but fairly slow what with the wrapping, and sometimes my shoulder gets really tired before I get done. The machine one uses makes a real difference, my newer machine couldn't really handle the thickness and I broke a lot of needles as well as the machine itself. This old Singer from the sixties that I am using now works really well and it doesn't even seem as if it has any difficulty going through all the thicknesses of clothesline and fabric. I use serger thread to whatever color goes best with the fabric I'm using. It's strong and doesn't break easily being polyester.

I hope my directions are understandable and that others will be moved to try it making their own fabric baskets.

Drunkard's Path top finished. It will now take it's place 2nd down from the top. I have one quilt under the needle, and I got it to the half way point this morning.

Tumbling Stars. I am really enjoying the quilting on this one. I love doing that pattern, it's simple and fast, I can get into a real rhythm with it. It's one of the best ways I've done to fill out a diamond.

This is a system I've worked out so that I don't have any more 20 year old UfOs hanging around. Every project I start or run across unfinished gets a card, I make notes on it; plans to finish it, any information that I think I may need, and file it alphabetically. I am making pretty good progress on my UFOs, I don't know how many I may find up the in attic when Ambrosina does her spring cleaning up there, but I seem to have found all that are down here or upstairs. When I feel the urge to start a new project, I get the box out and start a new, old  project that I want to get done. Maybe in about a year I'll be able to start something new, new, but I have spent time, thread and possibly money on these old projects that I want to finish them. I don't want to leave Ambrosina a bunch junk and unfinished projects to go through either, so I will get caught up and then do just one project at a time, I hope and intend.

I have about 20 blocks worth of Drunkard's Path units in red and blue to pin together for the next Drunkard's Path variation that I am calling Dirty Attic Windows. This variation has several different names, Dirty Windows, Attic Windows are a couple of them. I am calling it Dirty Attic Windows because I have never seen any attic windows that are clean. I love the many variations possible with the Drunkard's Path pattern. The one after this will be a turtle quilt using the basic Drunkard's Path block, I finally figured out how to do the tail and the head, so I will start pining them when I get the pinning of the red and blue one done. More on that later.

It's getting really cold again, we are supposed to have 7 inches of snow before Wednesday, oh joy. Two months now and we can call it Spring, oh joy!

Drunkard's Path webbed. The columns are sewn together into rows and next I will sew the rows together, it will be done and ready to quilt, probably this evening sometime. Sammy and David are out at Gramp's desk working with leather and weaving on the inkle loom, Sam gets tired of one and they go on to the other for a while. They don't get a lot done, but they sure enjoy themselves.

David tightened the belt on the treadle and now I'm getting a better work out when I sew on her, it's nice because now I don't have the belt slipping while I sew and motion is not wasted. The pinwheel blocks are going very fast; I think I'll have enough of the big ones by the time I finish the small ones for a couple of tops, I don't have to quilt them right away. I am enjoying piecing them and I am in no hurry to finish them, by the time they are done I will have a couple of empty tubs; more space is always good.

I'm going to go now and finish the Drunkard's Path top, when I get this close to the finish of something I usually can't rest until it is done. This is an old ufo, it's at least 5 years since I started it, when it's done I will quilt it after En Provence, so it is 3rd from the one I am quilting on now. I have plenty of time to think of a quilting pattern for it. It will soon be done!

This morning as I was upstairs ironing them, with all 3 of the boys are home from school, I had an extra assistant in Sammy. He was counting the ones that I had to fix because I had rotated some of the pieces and the pattern would be distorted if I didn't, we got up to 8, and he was disappointed because he wanted it to be ten that I had to fix. He was in a very odd mood; they all 3 were very LOUD. Of course, my children were never loud, only just raise the roof loud and I loved the fun of it.

Time to fix the blocks, and then some hand work after that, it's almost dinnertime and the afternoon has gotten away from me, it's nice to have plenty to do though, and boys to enjoy, the dinner table should be lively tonight!

 I saw the doctor this morning, I have a sinus infection and a UT infection, exactly what I thought, although it is no wonder that I am dragging, and I think a nap will be in order this afternoon.

I am surprised that I got anything done today, but I did make a lid for the basket I made yesterday and I even did some quilting. The basket on the right I beaded last night, it looks better in person than in the picture, although I still don't think I would care to have mine that way, I know other people have said they like them.

I got everything done at he doctor that I needed to, I had some blood work to get done and I needed refills on my test strips. I also scheduled my mammagram for next week, it gives me a feeling of satisfaction that I remembered everything, it happens so seldom, me remembering everything I mean.

I hear our little boys are home, so I will go up and say hello, then I will take a nap. That is one of the perks of being a grandparent instead of a parent, I can leave them for their mother to take care of and then come down and take a nap, oh joy! oh bliss!

It looks like she is wearing a hood, but her beautiful flatness up and to the left of the needle gives me endless more possibilities for my baskets. The names Martha and Gertie have been suggested for her, of the two I like Martha better, but I don't know yet.

Tomorrow I will make a lid for this one, and since I have a lot of these fabric strips I am going to make a set of graduated sizes with buttons from my collection on the tops for handles. I like this shape a lot and I think they will sell well.

I am trying to plan a quilt with gray and silver-gray and light turquoise, I got some very pretty prints in those colors on sale last month, and I am getting tired of the solids I've been using that I got from Rose, so for a change I will use some prints and try a different pattern. I will, of course, go back and use the solids, but a person needs a change every so often.

Oh no, David kicked over my jar of beads that I use for a doorstop, I've done it twice myself, you'd think I would have moved it by now. Waddles the second assistant is having a blast "helping" to pick them up. I was planning to start beading yesterday's basket this afternoon, I guess I just wasn't fast enough. The worst part of them getting all over the floor is that I always manage to step on one in my bare feet after I think I have them all picked up. Yes I definitely will move them today. As I work on beading my basket I am going to watch some quilting shows, they will help me decide what pattern I might want to use, then I will be able to figure out if I have all the fabric I need.

We are in the middle of our January thaw, we haven't had much snow so far this winter. Leon has the credit for that: he bought a snow blower this year. After the thaw we will get more cold weather and we could get a lot more snow, but for now I will take what I get. The sun has shifted enough towards the spring equinox that we get a little sunshine through the high up window down here for about an hour in the afternoon, that too is welcome!

So back to work for me, especially as I have several hundred beads to pick up. Sigh.

The bobbins I got yesterday for the Singer were the right ones, although one of them was unusable. I will be looking for vintage bobbins at thrift shops and yard sales this summer.

Because she is flat above and to the left of the needle I can get a different shape to my baskets, I am going to bead this one, but if I had any of the fabric strips that color left I would have made a lid. Tomorrow I will make another one and make sure I have enough of the right color for the lid. I like the straight up and down of that shape, and with lids they would make great storage. The zig zag is pretty narrow, but I think I like that better, more of the fabric is seen without the distraction of the stich.

I got a really good start on Tumbling Stars too. I am using one of my favorite patterns and it is fast and easy and looks good too.

I didn't enjoy quilting Blue Rose much, I didn't like my quilting pattern, and that's never as much fun; but I really enjoy this one a lot, and I think it shows. I think it will go pretty fast too.

I can't get into the doctor until Thursday, but this cold and what is with it has gone on so long it is time to do something about it. It's gone on so long that a couple of days more aren't going to make much difference. I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection now, and I know I have a uti, always so much fun. David had to go to Walmart to pick up some stuff for me, and he came home with two packages of cookies, I shouldn't have let him go before lunch. However, since they are here I might as well have a cup of coffee and enjoy. I hear my little boys upstairs, so I will take some up to them, no need for us to eat all of them. I still have an afternoon to get some things done, so I think that I will get started on some piecing. Last night I counted and I have 68 large Pinwheel blocks and 10 small. The small ones take longer because of more pieces, so I don't get so many done. But I am pleased with my progress.

 These are some fabrics I picked up at my favorite thrift shop the other day, they came through the laundry this morning and I am going to fold them and put them on the shelf. They are some very nice greens and purples with a sort of Asian pattern. Very pretty, I will have fun planning what to do with them.

This is some pink I picked up at Jo-Ann's this morning. I am gathering together pinks to make the Log Cabin Heart, but I won't be ready to start that for a while.

I basted Tumbling Stars, but I forgot to take the camera upstairs, and I didn't feel like running down and getting it. I had a bit of trouble basting it because I must have measured wrong and the back wasn't big enough. I had to take it off the table twice and add strips to it to make it bigger. The first time I thought that it just wasn't wide enough until just before I was finished basting it and found that it was about 12 inches too short. Sigh. I did get it done and wound bobbins, then Ambrosina and I went to Jo-Ann's. I got needles and bobbins for the Singer and the pink fabric, and she got fabric to make bow ties for the boys. They've decided they want bow ties, they do that every so often, and she makes them each one. I have done it in the past, but David doesn't like them so I don't have to unless I want to for some reason or another.

I am late today, and dinner is almost ready, it's smelling awfully good. I need to get the fabrics put away so David can have his side of the bed, I guess I'd better get busy, so until tomorrow.

This family has a cold, the entire family are feeling pretty rotten, it has been hanging around for 3 weeks, and we hope it will leave us soon.

I'm getting quite a large pile of Pinwheels of all colors, both sizes. The belt broke on Vanessa the little green New Home vintage machine

that I am working on the Drunkard's Path with so I've been spending more time with Ernestine, the treadle. The belt came yesterday and I started working on her again. I am also getting a pretty good pile of those too, I haven't counted, but I estimate there are about 7 or 8 left to do before I start joining them together. I might never get all these tops quilted, but I might as well store them as finished tops as cut out pieces, especially since I enjoy sewing on my old machines so much.

I took the new machine, the vintage Singer, upstairs this morning to try to use it, only to discover

that I don't have any bobbins that fit. I just assumed she would take the usual size but she doesn't; I also discovered that I am out of needles, so a trip to Jo-Ann's is in order tomorrow, weather and my cold permitting.

It hasn't been a day to get a lot done in, with no one feeling very well and other things, but we muddle through somehow. Now this late in the day a little more machine sewing, some hand sewing and a cup of coffee. What better way to spend a cold afternoon is there?

It's been a lovely Saturday morning and I spent it piecing a back for the next quilt to be quilted, Tumbling Stars. Not pink. Also part of the morning was spent being Sammy's coach while he played Rummy-O with his mom, he didn't need a lot of help, just sometimes when it came to the more intricate plays.

My 1st assistant Happy was restless today, I wonder what she was planning?

Blue Rose is finished, I bound it this morning and we took a picture. A very cold picture. I am calling this quilt Blue Rose as a play on words. It's blue and it's a Row quilt. The rows are panels of machine embroidered panels and quilt blocks, that are basically pieces left over from other quilts. I didn't want to waste them because of all the time and thread put into them. This isn't one of my better quilts, it's mostly made up as I went along, but it's finished and can be used as a utility quilt. There is a spot on it and if it doesn't wash out I won't be able to try to sell it, so we will see.

I still can't get over this cold, and it's going into my chest so I am trying to get warm and doing a lot of resting, trying to sleep but not a lot, between sneezing and coughing. Still, nothing that lots of others are not going through at the time, some of them in the house here. David was coughing a lot last night so he's kind of crabby with being sick.

Ambrosina was looking through her seed catalogues and planning her garden, can spring be far away? Just over two months until the spring equinox, but that doesn't mean it will warm up, but we can always hope!

Yesterday was my once a month class for my mental disorder, and so I didn't get a whole lot done down here. I didn't get a whole lot done anywhere for that matter, I am still in the throes of the cold that is making the rounds of the family and I didn't feel like doing much.

Today was better though, I still have the headache but my throat isn't sore and I got a lot of quilting done on Blue Rose.

Fat lopsided butterflies. I don't think this is going to be a favorite quilting pattern, I guess I can't hit it right on the nose every time. The quilting is going fast though and I think I may be able to finish it tomorrow and bind it the next day. The tub where I keep the unquilted tops just got two added to it, so I won't be getting the ones out of the attic anytime soon, but I want to keep anymore tops from getting 20 years old so I will quilt them and then go back to the ufos. I already know how I am going to quilt Tumbling Stars, so I won't have to take my sketch pad and figure that out. The next one after that I am not sure, but it will come to me.

I am going to take a nap to see if the headache will clear itself up, then do some work on the treadle if I can get warm enough, I might even turn the heater on for a while. I discovered yesterday that the remote that turns the heater on sometimes turns the tv on, go figure, definitely odd, so when I turned the heater on just now, the tv came on, but I'm not ready to watch anything. I wonder if anything else unexpected is going to happen today?

It's a very cold and miserable Tuesday, several of the family, including me, have colds with sore throats and headaches. A good day to snuggle under the quilts with hot drinks.

I finished En Provence this morning. I think I like my own patterns better. I don't think that I get the same feeling of satisfaction from someone else's pattern the way I do my own. It's ok, even pretty, but it doesn't feel like mine. It will now wait until it's turn to be quilted. There are two ahead of it. The one that I am quilting now, and Tumbling Stars. Probably only a couple of weeks, now that this top is done I will concentrate on my quilting. It's going on my bed, so there is no hurry.

I am now going to get under the covers and take a nap, maybe I will feel better afterwards and be up to some sewing on the treadle, if not I won't worry about it; the pinwheel blocks are going pretty fast, and I have quite a few of them done so there is no hurry. For now though, I need to warm up, it's cold!

Pinwheels in two sizes. I will alternate the small ones with large ones, so far in just pink and burgundy in the small size but I haven't gotten down very far in the tub where they are stored. The block on the left are half-square triangles that I didn't have enough of one color to make a pinwheel. All the leftover small half-square triangles I will turn into those blocks and put together a tops from. I think that if I have to store the scraps and pieces they might as well be stored as tops and I will get the fun of sewing them. I have a lot of these particular scraps, I will get at least 2 tops, maybe 3.

I got moved into the shelf David put up. I don't have a very large stash, but it's nice that I can see it at a glance, then I can plan more easily what fabrics to buy when I have a project in mind. I also cleaned down here in the bedroom and tomorrow I will straighten up the sitting room before it gets bad, I'm keeping caught up yippie skippie!

I am almost finished with En Provence, tomorrow I will finish and hopefully I will have a picture of it; it's been nice to have Juki back, she is the best of the upstairs machine for piece and quilting, with Brunehilde better for embroidery and fabric construction. A girl can't have too many sewing machines though, like diamonds, although I don't have any diamonds and I'd rather have sewing machines anyway.

It is supposed to get really cold for the rest of the week and snow. No surprise for this time of the year, although we aren't turning on the heater down here because of the electric bill. I see more coats and socks in the future, treadling on Ernestine will keep the circulation going, and it's only two and a half months until spring, by the calendar anyway. David put plastic on the windows down here in the basement although they are up so high we don't feel a draft, but Leon wanted it so he did it. I'll live but it seems like it will be a long two months. I think now I will go out and do some treadling, I'm getting cold and I need to get my circulation going!

 The blocks and sashings are done and waiting to be ironed, I couldn't iron today because Ambrosina was cleaning and we were expecting Timothy and Rosa for dinner and a movie. Tomorrow I will get to them, it is so nice having Juki up and running again, she is the best machine I have for piecing upstairs. I have other sewing I should be doing, I oiled the new machine and she's ready to go although I haven't picked out a name for her yet. I think Ambrosina is annoyed with me that I got her because she was somewhat scornful about how many machines I have, oh well. As long as they aren't in her way I don't see why I should be concerned about it.

It's very cold, Leon is still in a tizzy about how high the electric bill is and he made David wander around the house with a lighter to see if the flame showed a draft. This is after David stayed home sick from the meeting. Now he insisted David go with him to Menards to get a meter to measure how much electricity each outlet is using. He wants us to pay more I am sure, but I think he's being ridiculous. It's probably just my warped outlook on life, but if he wants us to pay more he could just ask instead of all this rigamarole. Not to mention spending the money for something like that, they use the same sort of heater upstairs in the boys room that we have down here, so I don't know what he is trying to prove. It's so cold down here now I have to be under the covers all of the time unless I am sitting at the machines, then I put on an old coat. It's not doing my fibromyalgia or arthritis any good at all.

I should stop complaining, it does no one any good at all. Just keep counting the days until spring. The lovely days when the air conditioning makes me so cold I can go out onto the front porch to warm up with my hand sewing. Two and a half months, I can make it, can't I?

My pinwheels are looking good, pictures tomorrow. I will work on them some more soon, first I must put on an extra pair of socks and look for my old coat, I wonder where I left it?

A good day, Juki's bobbin case came, late in the day, but it came and tomorrow I will be able to quilt on Blue Rose tomorrow. I had a lot of errands today, but when I went to get the part I stopped by my favorite thrift shop and got a whole bag of Asian style fabrics, which are now in the laundry. Also I got this:

She runs ok, the light is good, there was an owner's manual and the top pops up for decorative cams. I needed a zigzag that I wouldn't have to worry about ruining when I work on my baskets, and she's cast metal heavy duty motor, everything that I need. I imagine Ambrosina will roll her eyes a little, but I don't want to have to put anymore expensive parts in Brunehilde. This one won't have expensive parts, and these models are still common enough that if anything needs replacement I can probably find the part. I haven't cleaned and oiled her yet, that can wait until tomorrow, I'm really tired, and it's late in the day.

I picked up this pink fabric today, I'm getting ready to make the heart quilt and I just don't have a lot of light pink, this is only a start, but I probably won't even cut for a couple of months, I'll have to pick up some more variety so it won't be flat, I want it to sparkle a little. I don't have the darker colors yet either, I probably won't be able to pick up any more until next month, something to look forward to.

Time for a nap I think, maybe a cup of coffee first. Tomorrow is Saturday another busy day with the boys home, nice.

Cold, cold, cold, cold. The electric bill was way too high and so we can't use the heater as much down here. I understand, but the cold will make me ache so. 3 months until spring. I can live that long. A sweater and 3 sweatshirts, layer the socks, get under the covers. Turn on the heated mattress pad, oh wait, that's electric too. Not a happy situation. It's not much warmer upstairs, they keep the heat pretty low to save on the gas bill. Oh boy, I'm never as productive when I am cold.

Tumbling Stars, I finished the top last night. It will have to wait to be quilted until I get the part for Juki. It will be next under the needle after I finish Blue Rose, which I haven't even started waiting for the part. I called and the woman at the shop said she thinks it might have come because 3 big boxes have come, but I am still waiting to hear from them. Evidently speed is not part of their customer service. Tomorrow it's supposed to warm up a little and I am going to go to Walmart, I will stop by the shop in case it came in and they just haven't called, sort of the thing I would expect from their performance so far.

The next quilt down here on Ernestine will be pinwheels, I am just waiting for David to come downstairs so I can ask him to get the tub they are in out from under the stairs. It is not going to go back under the stairs either although there is more than one quilt's worth in that tub. My stuff is no good under the stairs where I can't get at it. Having it in the way will just mean I will be motivated to get it done faster. It may as well wait in the completed top for as in the pieces, I will be less likely to lose parts of it that way.

I have 9 blocks of En Provence done out of 16 they are going faster, and I probably would have gotten one more done if I hadn't had to fix one of the blocks. No surprise there, if I hadn't made a mistake I would wonder what was wrong. I make lots of mistakes just to prove I am normal. I must be very normal, I make so many. Someone once asked me how long they would have to sew before they wouldn't have to use a seam ripper any more. I laughed and said I hadn't make it to that point yet. Well I still haven't made it to that point, and I'm pretty sure that I won't, but I don't get upset about it any more either, go with the flow......

David put this shelf up for me this morning.

It can't be seen easily because it's wire, but once I have my fabric on it I will be able to see my fabrics at a glance. I don't think they will fill it because I don't have a very big stash, but being able to see it at a glance will be nice; I'll be able to tell what I need for the project I'm working on or planning. With our small space having things just because we like to look at them is a luxury and I'm keeping fewer and fewer things around that are pretty but useless. This will free up some of my closet space for actual clothes.

I have the next project planned for Ernestine the treadle when Tumbling Stars is finished sometime this week, I have been wanting to do a pinwheel quilt, and i even have one about half done so I will dig that out and put it together, it will be fast, but most of all it will be fun, and one less project I have to finish. I think that Ufos will be worked on down here and new projects will be started upstairs.

I got about 3 of these blocks put together, and then 1st assistant Happy decided to come to my aid. I took a picture of the 1st block and in looking at the picture saw a mistake. I like the way that they are coming together though, and 1st thing tomorrow I will fix the mistake. I got a total of 4 out of 16 done today, but they will go faster because I've got the best way figured out now. Faster after I fix the mistake I mean. While Happy was visiting I got a bunch of stuff put away, then she left and I was able to do another one before lunch. I do love her sweet little face looking out at me, it's such a pretty little face.

I've also been going through my tubs of strips to find pink and burgundy, I am going to sort them out to start the Log Cabin Heart as soon as I finish En Provence upstairs. Still no part of Juki and I am starting to get annoyed, I suppose I should call the "guy" again, he seemed to have a very relaxed attitude, which is ok for him, but I have work to get done. Fretting won't get me anywhere though, and I do have other things to do, for instance, sorting fabric onto my new shelf. Climbing up won't be my favorite part of it, but it will be over with quickly enough I don't have that much. So, on to the next task.

I meant to do this earlier in the day, but I got busy and then I took a nap, it was a good idea and helped my headache a lot.

The is the graphed out pattern for Log Cabin Heart, the drawing I worked from and the different blocks one by one. Most of the blocks are traditional dark/light log cabin blocks, the blank blocks are pieced all light. The long blocks are different, and I have yet to draw them out. It is actually an easy quilt if the usual care is taken to be accurate. I will try and get the long blocks drawn and posted within the next few days.

It is very cold again 15 below and add to that the wind chill, so we stayed home tonight, and will be staying home over the next couple of days, Ambrosina made it clear that we should stay home and it's icy out, one slip for either David or I and there could be serious problems. Oh well, I guess we will just get more done here. I cleaned the sitting room and it didn't take long, maybe I am keeping it up after all. Tomorrow the bedroom, maybe it won't take very long either.

I am ready to start putting En Provence by Bonnie Hunter together, all the parts of blocks are done, so I can joining in putting them and the  and the sashing together. I think it will be fun, and it's going to be a toss up to see which will be done first Tumbling Stars or En Provence. Whichever top is done first will get quilted first. I finished 16 quilts in 2016, but that was coincidence. 17 in 2017 wouldn't be so bad, but I wish to get more than that done if I am to catch up with the backlog of tops that I have in the attic. It's always good to have ambitions of the right kind.

This is the last day before school starts. Gramps and Sammy are locked into an endless game of Clue. Neither one of them has the slightest idea of how to end the game, deductive reasoning is a little out of their sphere. Sammy because he is only 5 and Gramps because he is clueless. Sooner or later Sammy will decide it's time to go do something else and declare himself the winner. Then Gramps will put the game away and get a cup of coffee. They both enjoy themselves tremendously and it is absolutely hysterical to listen to. I think Sammy makes up his own rules too, but Gramps never seems to mind. It's not going to be too long before our Sammy will be too old for that sort of thing and then Gramps and I will miss it so much, but they must grow up, the alternative to that would be heartbreaking. The house will be quiet again tomorrow, we might rest up a day, the activity level has been hectic and loud, but lovely and tiring too.

Still no part for Juki, I will be so glad to have her running again. Brunehilde is a wonderful machine, but she isn't the best thing for piecing on, tiny pieces tend to jam up under the needle because of the wide hole in the throatplate for the zigzag. She works however, so I won't complain, but just work with it. For the rest of the day I will work down here on Ernestine on the Tumbling Starts top and hope for the part tomorrow.

I have worked up the drawing for Log Cabin hearts and broken it down into blocks, so I will try to get those posted tomorrow, then I can figure out the rest of the drawings for the individual block layouts, it shouldn't take too long.

We had snow last night, but not a lot, if we don't get more there will be a drought this summer, the poor farmers just don't seem to be able to get a break with the weather, but there is still a healthy chunk of winter left to go, and as Leon says he has seen snow as late as June, I have to believe him, he has lived out here longer than I have.
